Ultimate Chicken Horse Free on Steam?

Ultimate Chicken Horse is one of the most inventive party platformers of the past decade, developed by Clever Endeavour Games and released in 2016. Up to four players take turns placing traps, platforms, and hazards across a shared level, then race to reach the goal while everyone else scrambles through the chaos they helped create. It is available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and mobile, but one important truth gets lost in the noise: Ultimate Chicken Horse free is not a straightforward answer, and the details depend entirely on which platform you are asking about.

Getting Steam Games for Free

When players go looking for a free copy of this game, what turns up is a mixed picture. The Steam version carries a price tag and has never had an officially free tier. There is no demo on Steam. The mobile release does offer a free trial, but that is a separate, trimmed-down experience that does not reflect the full game, and it does not include online multiplayer. The full online play that makes Ultimate Chicken Horse so enjoyable with friends is locked behind the paid upgrade.

Beyond the confusion about mobile versus PC versions, there are other traps worth knowing about. Offers that promise the paid Steam version for nothing, downloads from unofficial sources, and pages that ask for login details or payment information are not worth the risk to your device or your Steam account. The only safe way to own the full game on PC is to buy it directly through Steam, or to use a legitimate Steam gift card from a trusted source like Eneba, the digital marketplace our rewards feed into.

Is Ultimate Chicken Horse free on Xbox or PS5?

As of the time of writing, Ultimate Chicken Horse is not included in Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Plus at no extra charge. It sits as a standard paid title on both the Microsoft Store and the PlayStation Store. That means the same principle applies: the mobile trial is your only genuinely free taste of the game, and the full experience on any console requires a purchase. Subscription libraries rotate, so it is always worth a quick check on those platforms directly, but do not count on a free tier appearing.

Can you play Ultimate Chicken Horse for free?

You can play a limited version for free through the official mobile trial on iOS and Android. That trial gives you a taste of the level-building and trap-placement mechanics but restricts content and does not include full online multiplayer. The Steam and console versions are not free and have no free trial option available.

For players who want the complete Ultimate Chicken Horse online experience, including cross-session online multiplayer with up to four players and the full range of level pieces, the paid Steam version remains the most feature-complete option on PC. Steam sales do bring the price down periodically, which is another reason having a Steam gift card ready in your wallet is a smart move.
