Outlast Trials Free: The Legit Way In

The Outlast Trials is one of the most unsettling co-op horror games released in recent years. Developed by Red Barrels and launched into full release in 2024, it drops up to four players into Cold War-era experiments as test subjects trying to survive increasingly brutal trials. The game builds on the terror the Outlast series is known for, and it has earned a strong following on Steam. If you have been searching for a way to get Outlast Trials free, you are far from alone, but the answer is more complicated than most results let on.

Getting Steam Games for Free

The Outlast Trials is a paid game. It has never had a free-to-play model, and anyone suggesting otherwise is either describing an old, expired promotion or something less legitimate. A PS Plus offer that made the game temporarily available to subscribers ended in early 2025 and is no longer active, so pages or posts still advertising that deal are out of date. Separately, some players have reported seeing the game appear to show as free or already owned in their Steam library, which is a display quirk tied to owning the Deluxe Edition content rather than a genuine free claim.

When you go looking for a free copy, a lot of what turns up is unreliable. Offers promising a paid game for nothing, codes that have already expired, or downloads from unofficial sources are not worth the risk to your account or your device. The only routes worth your time are buying from Steam directly, or using legitimate gift cards from a trusted marketplace like Eneba, which stocks Steam gift cards you can put toward the purchase safely.

How to Get Outlast Trials Free?

The most reliable legitimate path is earning a Steam gift card through Snakzy and using it to buy The Outlast Trials on Steam without spending your own money. Our app lets you play mobile games to accumulate coins, then redeem those coins for real gift cards. It takes some time, but it is genuinely free and genuinely works.

Download Snakzy and create your free account.
Discover and play mobile games inside the app. You earn coins as you hit milestones and complete in-app tasks.
Redeem your coins for a Steam gift card or Eneba wallet funds once you have enough saved up.
Head to Steam and purchase The Outlast Trials using your gift card balance.
Download and play the full game, including all co-op modes, with no strings attached.

This approach fills the gap left by the expired PS Plus promotion cleanly. Rather than waiting for another time-limited offer that may never return, you build toward the purchase on your own schedule by playing games you are already enjoying on mobile.

Is Outlast Trials Free with Game Pass?

The Outlast Trials has appeared in Xbox Game Pass at various points, which means PC players with an active Game Pass subscription may be able to access it through that route. However, Game Pass access is tied to an ongoing subscription fee, and availability in the catalogue can change. If the game rotates out or your subscription lapses, access goes with it. Owning a Steam copy outright means it stays in your library permanently.

Is Outlast Trials Free to Play?

No. The Outlast Trials is not free to play. It requires a one-time purchase on Steam and carries a modest price. There is no free tier, no free trial through Steam, and no official way to access the full game without paying, outside of a subscription service like Game Pass while it is in the catalogue.
