Far Cry 4 Free via Steam Gift Card

Far Cry 4 is one of the most ambitious open-world shooters Ubisoft has ever released. Set in the fictional Himalayan kingdom of Kyrat, it launched in 2014 to widespread praise for its dense environment, eccentric villain, and open-world co-op. If you have been searching for a Far Cry 4 free route, the good news is that a legitimate one exists, and it does not involve any sketchy downloads or expired codes.

Getting Steam Games for Free

Far Cry 4 carries a price on Steam, and that price rarely drops to nothing. Offers that promise you a full paid game for free almost always come with a catch: downloads from unofficial sources can expose your device to malware, compromise your personal data, or result in an account ban. Codes shared on random sites are frequently expired by the time you try them, and some pages that look like download portals exist only to harvest your login details. The only routes genuinely worth your time are buying from Steam directly, or picking up a legitimate Steam gift card from a trusted digital marketplace like Eneba, which lets you fund your Steam wallet without risk.

It is also worth clearing up a common point of confusion. Some platform listings have shown Far Cry 4 as available at no charge, but those listings typically refer to a limited co-op trial rather than the full game. The complete Far Cry 4 experience, including the single-player campaign set across Kyrat, has always been a paid release. Subscription services such as Ubisoft+ have included it in their libraries at various points, but availability through those services changes over time, so it is worth checking current terms directly with the provider.
